Pool Day!

While everyone was here (and my kids forewent napping), I got a little blog-logged.  Go figure, I had to do stuff like "family time" and all that jazz.  :)

So where was I...

By the time Saturday rolled around, my kiddos were itchin' to go to the pool.  Considering just.how.much they love the sand (and getting it into every crevice of their bodies), I was shocked.  But we'd had a few beach days - so maybe to a 4 year old, it gets boring.  Me?  I'd love "boring" at the beach.  Bring on the bore.

Alas...

...to the pool we went - which I suppose is appropriate given that were missing swim lessons.  We loaded up all the same amounts of sunscreen, a few toys, and an armload of towels and headed over to the Fort Myers Beach Swimming Pool.

I've been here before.  It has NEVER been this empty.  Lucky us!
Tanner and Ellery took right to the baby pool, immediately playing and splashing.

Playing nicely!  Melt my heart.
I'm sure it lasted at least a moment longer than it took to snap this picture.

Even when Ellery was shivering with purple lips (how?  I'm unsure, other than the 2% body fat thing she has going on...), she refused to fully get out of the water.

"Momma.  Wrap towel 'round me.  I cold."
Baby, ya gotta LEAVE the pool first.

Before long, more kids showed up which gave Tanner free reign to ditch the little sister.

Tanner finds a friend...

(don't let this fool you.  She fully enjoyed her "alone" time!)

Tanner finds ANOTHER friend...

And eventually....

Elle goes down the BIIIIIG slide!
SPLASH!
Tanner never would brave it - but I blame it on Nana.  T made it as far as the top of the stairs - and, I believe, even sat in the slide to go...buuuuuut she weenied out.  If it woulda been me at the top of that slide with her, I woulda pushed her down, made her go, told her there's only one way off the top of this platform and it's via the slide (go ahead, judge me - but I know my 4-year-old.  She woulda loved it once she did it JUST.ONE.TIME.)  Nana's too nice.  :)

Whatever the case, they both had a good time doing their own things:

EK boogies with Nana :)

Tanner shows off her boarding skills

It's amazing to me how much fun the girls have on vacation, and I hope they are making memories - because Let.Me.Tell.YOU, to me it is EXHAUSTING!

You might think this is attitude.  And it probably is.
BUT SHE IS SLEEPING LIKE THIS.
I'm jealous.
(and I'm *certain* I could pull off this look while sleeping).
