Due to this upgrading-to-an-iPhone phenomenon, I am trying to refrain from posting each and every picture to facebook. Do you know how difficult is it to NOT text a picture to 32665? Especially when I'm convinced that every picture I take NEEDS to be seen? Well, it's harder than you might think, folks - I have some cute little beach bunnies. But because facebook is not my personal sharing website, I've practiced some self-control.
This blog, however, is my personal sharing website. Lucky you.
Mychal Kay drags two intimidated-by-waves girls into the ocean (because MOMMY NEEDS A PICTURE, dangit.)
...but I DO like the sand! (and throwing it, much to the dismay of everyone except Ellery)
"Momma, help me build a sandcastle!"
Isn't that what your sister is for? :)
Not so afraid of the ocean now, are we?
The thing that amazes me the most about kids at the beach is that they experience zero distress with regards to sand. I love the beach as much as anyone, but I'm not gonna lie - getting sand in places where sand need not be irritates me (sand belongs on my feet and between my toes. That's all.)
My girls? The more sand, the more betta. In fact, Ellery likes to take the sand and rub it on her skin, like lotion. She isn't satisfied until she is caked-up like a little cinnamon-sugar doughnut. And when she's finished with herself, she'll come after you with handfuls of the white stuff. The unfortunate thing (for me) is that she's too.stinkin'.cute to reprimand; I hate to admit it, but my legs got their own sandy rub down (I did draw the line, however - don't come at my arms, Little Miss :)
With Day One of beach fun under our belts, the girls are stoked beyond belief for a week in the sand & sun. Tomorrow Nana comes, and I've convinced Tanner that Nana is THE BEST Drizzle Castle maker on the planet (you're welcome, Mom! :) Once they get their Drizzle masterpiece built, I'll be sure to post more pictures - maybe to facebook, maybe to here, maybe to both! :)

I miss them (and you;) so much already! It's great to see them have so much fun at the beach and enjoy the sand. I'm sure it will only get better. Oh, and I'm glad you're happy with the iPhone - please don't drop it in the ocean!
Your little sand babies are too cute! Think of the sand as free microderm abrasion ; ) Keep the pics a comin' and have a wonderful girl's beach week ; )
