It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were playing in snow, and now we're enjoying 70 degree temps (wha?!?!?!?!:) And, in a few more days, we'll be on the beach in good ol' Fort Myers Beach. Even if we hadn't had lion-esque winds in Denver, it sure has been a bustling March - some might even say it has been MADNESS! :)
As is my work-and-family tradition, the first weekend of March was spent in Breckenridge at the Controversies in Transplantation conference. It is always a fun time spent with co-workers and friends at the base of Peak 9 at Beaver Run Resort (sweet! :) Unfortunately, the two previous years haven't jived well with Ellery Kay, so as we loaded up our Suburban I was waiting for the ball to drop - what kind of illness would strike this year?
Fortunately for us, NONE! (you've got to be kidding, right? :)
While I spent time at the conference, Tanner, Ellery, & John spent time in the game room, at the pool, and on the slopes.
| Or in our shower. Apparently playing "wash your hair" in the shower with your jams on is SOOOOPER fun. |
OK, but they did do that other stuff, too. :)
If you remember last year's adventure with Tanner and skiing (how could you forget those tears? That face?), you'd think I'da been hesitant to push it in 2012. That's not my style, however, and so we (read: I) decided to go full-tilt and put her in full-day ski school (if you remember, however, we did successfully try her on the bunny slopes a few blogs ago :) It was more successful than I could've imagined, and despite the current 70 degree temps, she's ready to go back for more skiing this year!

| Enjoying Ski School! |
| When did my baby get to be such a big girl?!?!?! |
After spending our weekend in the snow, we came back home to spend the rest of the month fighting the wind and enjoying the sun, mostly from our backyard:
| An every-day occurrence - slide climbing! |
| It's entirely possible that some sandbox pies were eaten prior to this picture... |
| And you wonder why I think she'll be my first one with stitches and/or a broken bone... |
| Just because you don't have snow doesn't mean you can't sled |
| I didn't witness this for myself, but I'm not certain it ended well... |
When we weren't "sledding" around the backyard, we've been trying our hand at biking on the front sidewalk:
| Cutest little Mickey Tricycler EVER. |
We tried about 724 pictures to get them both looking at the camera.
*fail* |
And sometimes we were just big goofs:
| What's this "sometimes." It's more like ALMOST ALWAYS. |
And at least on one occasion, we actually got out of the house:
| Onrey Leprechauns, every one of 'em. |
Whether it be our trip to the St. Patrick's Day parade, the ridiculous Denver winds (Tanner tells me, "Mommy, it's like a LION today!":), Duke getting upset in the first round of the NCAA tourney, literally bunking the girls up, or our fifty-minute looking-for-parking escapade at the zoo yesterday, MADNESS surely sums up this month. And looking back since October, it really has summed up every month - we seem to get busier and busier, and most days I'm not sure how a newborn is going to fit into our routine! Lion-esque, indeed! Perhaps a little Hurliboy will slow us down a bit? Somehow I'm leery of that thought...
Here's to a sheepish April! :)
