(Not) Making the Rainbow Connection

Now, who knows who this is?

Everyone, right?  RIGHT?  RIGHT?!?!?!?? 

And since everyone OBVIOUSLY knows who THAT is, then how could you not OBVIOUSLY know who THIS IS?!?!?!

I mean, Ellery doesn't have her magic flute, but otherwise...SPOT ON.

Or, apparently not.  

I was amazed. shocked. appalled. at the sheer number of people who have no idea who Rainbow Brite is.  If you are one of those people, stop reading this blog and IMMEDIATELY go rectify the problem by clicking here.  Seriously.  You shouldn't have to continue your life without this knowledge.

Regardless...Happy Late Halloween!  Sure, it's a few days passed now, but since we're all still noshing on our kids' Halloween candy, it's not too late to blog about - right? :)

I started my October 31st off by 1) trying not to fall asleep at work at 12:01am, then 2) rushing home after my shift to make sure John had all the Rainbow accessories needed before he took the girls for a day of Halloween fun at school.

If you're potty trained, you get to wear your costume.  Good thing Ellery didn't get to - or even want to - wear her costume at daycare because she had a poopsplosion that day.  Go Elle.

I think Tanner had a good time being Rainbow Brite at school, except that her "best friend" Megan told her that she couldn't play with them because they didn't know who she was supposed to be.  Little rat (I will be giving her mother the link above).  I mean, I guess I get it - Tanner doesn't know who Rainbow Brite is either, per se, but she loves RAINBOWS and it's a cute little costume so SHUT YOUR FACE, Megan.  Be nice.  And let my daughter play with you.

*ahem*

Where were we?

Oh yes...after school, John and I swooped the girls up and headed to a Halloween Party at their former daycare provider's (Lindsey's) house.  She invited a lot of the former daycare kids over, and we all went trick-or-treating in her neighborhood (all, except for Lindsey and her 1-year-old, who had to be taken to the Emergency Room after a fateful run-in between his forehead and the corner of their coffee table.  He's doing fine, thankfully :)

I swear she liked the costume.  I may or may not have told her that if she didn't wear the hat, she couldn't go get candy.  (ohmygawdI'mheinous)

Regardless of whether or not you know who Rainbow and Twink are (but you should know, by golly), the girls had a good time.  And how could you ever resist a cute little white-fluffy-thing with antlers telling you "Happy Hween.  Trick Treat.  Dayn-Doo (thank you)." ???  That's cute, whether you think she's a snowflake or a martian.

A successful night of Treating :)

We made it home late, and with all the appropriate sugar-high meltdowns, so I'd call our Halloween a success - even if some people did have a problem making the rainbow connection.  :)
