Three.

Today was a fine day to be Cooper Wayne Hurliman, if you ask me.

For starters, he woke up to this:

(I mean, can a mom's heart swoon more?  Tanner made the birdhouse for him at her Day Camp yesterday, and even drew a Batman logo on it because it is his favorite.  And then this set up, complete with a SuperHero birthday card.  I'm still getting misty-eyed over this!   And not pictured are a handful of arts and crafts Ellery has made for her brother.  When he is spoiled rotten, you fine folks have more to blame than just John and me!!  But I digress...)

After breakfast, a trip to the zoo with some friends, dressed in new Batman gear.

While there, we....

...looked at cows...(this is the Midwest, afterall...)

...and cockroaches.  (Ga.Ross)

We played famous statues.  (Jack Green makes an excellent "Thinker.")...

...and had an animal scavenger hunt.

(Cooper picked up that card and carried it around looking for animals like.a.boss.)

We played in a hurricane machine....

...and did an entire photo series with this tiger.  (I think the tiger was amused).

We ate lunch at Steak n' Shake with friends, had "Happy Birthday" sung by a group of awesome 5 through 11 year olds, and came home to PRESENTS!

(New superman threads AND a chainsaw.  This boy is high on the hog.)

And last but not least,

the best birthday dinner a boy could ask for - corn dog, (more) mac n cheese, and his vegetable choice:  corn.  ("I's has mys corn hot dog wif mys corn!!")

So all told, I'd say it was a pretty stellar day to be the Little Brother Coop.

Way to be three, buddy.  You rock. 💗
