Since we don't have much planned for today except the usual gymnastics, I thought I'd blog about our St. Patrick's Day parade-fun last Saturday!
If you keep up with us on Facebook at all, you'll already know that while I was carting the kids downtown for the parade, John was at home doing taxes! We had decided a few weeks ago that March 12th was going to be "Tax Day" at Hurlihouse, Denver, so I set about trying to find something fun for the kids and I to do while Daddy slaved away at home over the computer. John was OK with this arrangement until I found something SUPERFUN like the parade to go to! :) We both had fun in our own ways, I'm sure of it :)
Kelly and her kiddos were the first to make it downtown, and staked out a great spot at 19th & Wynkoop. After a small parking snafu (um...I didn't have any cash....oops), I backpacked Ellery in while Tanner huffed it with Momma ("Mommy, I don't step on cracks. But Daddy does." Just a snippet of the endless 3-year-old chatter while walking in...).
It was still a little chilly when we first got there, but the sunshine was coming! :)
It didn't take Ellery long to warm up and decide on her two main activities for the day: 1) Running away from me ~
and 2) eating ~
In case you need a re-cap, that was 1) running away from me ~
And 2) eating ~
"I can't be bothered by pictures. There's food to eat."
Oh yes, and drink.
Oh ya, there were other kiddos there, too :)
Tanner & Isaiah dig into some candy.
Emma & Zayne, enjoying the sunshine!
Livvie-Loo! Lovin' her beads :)
Picnic on the curb :)
Gabey's eatin' some Veggie Bootie. And, at 29 years young, Jess still counts as a kiddo. :)
As soon as it started, it was over (wait, that's a lie. This parade is FOREVER long! :)...but we were all having such a good time it didn't seem like long! Time to say our good-byes....
Bye little baby cutie-pie! (And Livvie, too :)
SQUEEZE!!!
Never too many hugs for G & T :)
It's been a long time since we've had a "Besties" picture! :)
I hope the leprechauns didn't disrupt your house TOO much - when I mentioned silly leprechauns to Tanner again last night (the first night we mentioned them ended in tears and leprechaun disaster), she told me "My daddy called the Leptrechauns and told them 'NO THANK YOU!' and my daddy's going to lock the doors so they can't get in." She then decided that Mommy, Daddy, Ellery, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny were all acceptable intruders into our house - somehow leprechauns just don't make the cut.
Maybe next year, eh? I want some green milk! :)
Hope you have a Happy Green Day! :) (and avoid the pinch! :)
